Although Dixie Hunke is a native of California, she was educated in Arizona from first grade through graduation at Grand Canyon College (now University). She accepted Christ at age 7 and was baptized at First Southern Baptist Church of Mesa. After teaching several years in Alaska, Dixie attended Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating in 1976 with a Masters in Church Music. Dixie served Interstate Baptist Association as education consultant then was appointed as a home missionary working with single adults. From 1981-1991 she directed the work of Woman’s Missionary Union in California. She then was appointed as a missionary, serving in East Asia from 1991-2003 and in West Africa from 2005-2007. She earned a Masters in Urban Economic Development from Eastern University in 2005. She began her ministry through FBC of Sun Lakes in June 2007. Dixie wrote Attitudes and Etiquette: Ministering Cross Culturally and
numerous articles in Christian publications. She has spoken and led conferences
at Glorieta National Assembly, and various seminaries and other venues.
She lives in Sun Lakes. |
