Rev. Bill May
Senior Pastor
Bill May, a native of Florida, has lived most of his life in Arizona.
His mother and father were members of First Baptist Church, Chandler
where Bill shaped his biblical beliefs and doctrinal convictions. Called
into the ministry at the age of 34, his ministry has included serving
churches as pastor and for 23 years, as a staff member of the Arizona
Southern Baptist Convention (ASBC). Bill was ordained at First Southern
Baptist Church, Flagstaff. The last six years with the ASBC, he served
as President of the Arizona Church Growth Board. He led the Stewardship
Ministry of the ASBC for 18 years and has continued serving churches’
stewardship needs (including capital fund campaigns) throughout the
United States. His writing on church growth has been published by the
Baptist Sunday School Board (Now LifeWay Christian Resources of The
Southern Baptist Convention). His writing ministry continues in the
areas of church budgeting, church team structures and church growth
strategies. He has served as a national conference leader at Ridgecrest
and Glorieta, leadership conference centers of the Southern Baptist
Convention, and as guest speaker at Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Bill is a certified
consultant with Natural Church Development process and certified Stewardship
conference leader for LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist
Convention.
During Bill’s service with the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention,
he served several churches as interim pastor that included First Southern,
Scottsdale (twice), Trinity Southern Baptist, Casa Grande (twice), Eastside
Baptist, Phoenix, Mission Drive Baptist, Phoenix, and as interim preacher
for North Phoenix Baptist Church, Phoenix. Since retirement, Bill has
served First Baptist, Holbrook and First Southern Baptist, Show Low.
Bill and his wife, Lena, have three adult sons, eight grandchildren
and one great grandchild. They reside at Del Webb’s Solera in Chandler.
Bill presently serves as Vice President of Kingdom Growth Ministries,
a stewardship service of Eklund May & Associates, Hurst, Texas.
