Rev. George S. Shuttleworth
Minister of Music and Singles
At the age of 15, George gave his heart to Christ in an evangelistic campaign and soon after followed the Lord in believer's baptism. He graduated in 1954 with an LTH degree from Central Baptist Seminary in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. George married Joan Harding on July 9, 1960 and the Lord has blessed them with two sons, Mark & Dale and two grandchildren, Renee & Luke.
George served as a team member of the Holliday-Shuttleworth Evangelistic Team from 1952-1960. Afterward he served as music and youth director of the Ryan Road Baptist Church in Warren, Michigan from 1960-1965 and of the Wick Road Baptist Church in Taylor, Michigan from 1965-1970. George also served in the music ministry and as assistant pastor of Twin City Baptist Church in Mishawaka, Indiana until 1979, and was ordained on May 27, 1979 by that same church. He then served as associate pastor of High Park Baptist Church in Toronto, Ontario, Canada until November 1992. George was involved with the music ministry of Muskoka Baptist Conference for 20 summers.
George
and Joan moved to Arizona at the end of 1992 and accepted a call to First
Baptist Church of Sun Lakes in the fall of the following year. He
considers it a joy and blessing to serve in a part-time capacity as music
minister in our growing church.
